As of 2008 the Department of Forest and Wood Science, Stellenbosch University, South Africa offers a new MFor programme in the following three directions: Bio-energy Systems, Commercial Plantation Forestry and Participatory Forest Management. Access to this programme is by a three-year Bachelor of Forestry (BFor) or a Bachelor of Science in Forestry (BSc Forestry) degree or a relevant qualification. The MFor also allows students with a BTech and several years of directed and professional work experience access to a university education and research environment.
